Works in Progress

I finished one of the Log Cabin Socks I am making for my husband in the chocolate brown Paton's Classic Merino. I am knitting these on size #6 Addi wood DPN's. I wanted them to be stretchy and comfortable, but was worried that the cables wouldn't be pronounced if I went too big on the needles. Turns out I am a very tight knitter when knitting in the round, so things look perfect. Here is the photo of the finished sock:

Odd angle on my leg, I assure you that my calves are not that large. Hmmm, must ask my husband to photograph my legs from now on so that I don't resemble a hippo.

On to Dad's Christmas Socks. They are the very classic "Gentleman's Winter Wool Stockings" from Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush. I love this pattern and how it made the most of the self striping yarn I used. They are about 75% finished, and I need only do the heel and foot of the second sock. I plan to have these done by tomorrow...but here is a photo of them in progress:

This is the very start of my Mother's "My So Called Scarf" by Sheep in the City. It is going to look great, and I am working it on #9 Addi DPN's cause I hate long needles and don't feel like fiddling with the circulars. Here is the photo of the begining:

Next post is of Amber's finished Log cabin Socks. :)

"My So Called Scarf" looked so lonely with no comments, I felt the need to post ...

I love the color and can't wait to see the creation.

PS: Liesel -- as in Von Trapp? ;D

awwww, thanks peter! I had to start her over, the needles were too big for the yarn, she is looking lovely now!

we should all do lunch soon, I can come and meet you all wherever. ;)

We were talking about a vegie lunch on thursday. How about a meat-lovers lunch on friday?
