Pattern: Log Cabin Socks from "Handknit Holidays" by Melanie Falick
Yarn: Patons Classic Merino in "Natural"
Needles: #4 DPN's by Brittany
Pattern Notes: This was a fast knit for socks because the yarn is bulkier. I really love this yarn (which I may have mentioned here and there) so much so that I have bought more in chocolate to make my husband and I matching Log Cabin Socks. The cabling was easy, and looks really special. I love the way the cabled pattern flows down the back of the heel. I knit these on smaller needles than the pattern called for because Amber has teeny tiny ankles and feet. We wear the same size shoe (7.5) but her feet are quite narrow. I wanted these to be warm comfy socks, but not over-sized and "floppy" (there is nothing worse than a sock that flops off the top of your toe when you are walking around in it!) I hope that she will really love them, and I think she will.
Another Christmas gift DONE!
