Pink lady knits

3.14.2008

I'm baaaaaaacccccckkkkk!

Wow, blog silence for almost three weeks and so little to report! I knit two whole rows while I was on vacation, which is embarassing to admit, but there it is. VJ says that he thinks it's because we had so much going on, and I tend to agree with him. At any rate, the two rows I mentioned were on the Shetland Triangle, and within those two rows I managed to make a mistake! So, I haven't picked it up again since I've been home. However, since the last time you saw it, there has been progrees...and here it is for you to see.

(See Jen, I AM knitting on your shawl!)

However, the beautiful shawl is on hold again until I finish up some small knits. Lately, my friends are having children and getting married like it's going out of style...while I was out West my friend Jen had her second little boy, whom she named Trent. My friend Kelly is having a baby shower for the upcoming birth of her first child, a daughter, this Saturday. My cousin Kelly is having her second little girl in June. And, on top of that my sister-in-law Amber is getting married in May!
Needless to say I'm busy. Here's what I'm making for each of them:

Jen/Trent: Cabled Baby Hat and Owen's Socks in baby blue Debbie B
liss Cashmerino.
Kelly (friend): Cabled Baby Hat and Owen's Socks in deep burgandy Jaeger Matchmaker Merino.

Kelly (cousin): Cabled Baby Hat and Owen's Socks in baby pink Debbie Bliss Cashmerino

Saarjte's bootees in leftover sock yarn (maybe a few pairs)

Moderne Log Cabin Baby Blanket in Lion Brand Cotton Ease

Elijah in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino

Sophie in Debbie Bliss Cashmerino

Amber: "Something Blue" Garter for her wedding.
I've successfully made the hat for Kelly (friend), and I've started the Moderne Log Cabin Blanket for Kelly (cousin), but that's all of the progress so far. I need to get these things finished soon so that I can move on to some of the larger projects I have on the needles.

Here is a progress photo of the Log Cabin, it's coming along really well although I need to work on cleaning up my stitch pick ups.
Stay tuned for some finished object photos...I'll have a photoshoot soon!

Ooo...the log cabin is coming along really nicely!!

Meh - don't worry about the two rows; you on *vacation*!! It's ok. We forgive ya. :)

Did I read somewhere that you are in Baltimore? Me too! Small world, eh? :)

Happy knitting!

Thanks!!!
I'm really pleased with the log cabin, it's one of those things that you can't imagine being as elegant as it is...and then are happily surprised.:)
I'm in B'more for sure! I live in Patterson Park and I work in the Inner Harbor (right across the street from the Aquarium), where are you?
