Go Black to be Green?

Many of you have seen the new Blackle by Google, and most are probably using it already, however I wanted to take this opportunity to mention it and its benefits to a greener world.
I am fortunate enough to work for a company that takes the green movement seriously, and does all they can to incorporate small changes into our daily life at our office. We have recycling stations for paper, plastic and even electronics, small signs above light switches to remind us to turn them off when they aren't in use and recycled office products stocking our shelves. In addition to recycling and reducing, we are also encouraged to reuse in the form of glasses and a water cooler instead of water bottles.
These are small steps, but they are important ones. If each person made small steps at their office and in their homes, the world would be a much healthier place. Recently, the President of my company sent around an email requesting that we all set our default homepage to Blackle and begin using it for all of our searches. The email included the reasons Blackle saves energy as well as these pearls of wisdom:

"
We believe that there is value in the concept because even if the energy savings are small, they all add up. Secondly we feel that seeing Blackle every time we load our web browser reminds us that we need to keep taking small steps to save energy."

So, I encourage you as I will encourage all of my friends and clients, to do the same. If you are interested in the reasons behind Blackle's energy saving, you can click here to read more.
So, do you Blackle?
